MARCH 2007: Advanced Certificate in Professional Science Management Approved by State Ed Department: The University at Buffalo PSM Office is pleased to announce that we have received State Department of Education (SED) approval for our proposed advanced (graduate) certificate program in "Professional Science Management." Over the past several months, we’ve had many exciting developments that have helped set the foundation for future successes with SUNY Buffalo’s PSM program.  Such developments include:

(1) We’ve welcomed a new collaboration with the Physics Department which has agreed to join the PSM initiative with a new track in Biophysics;

(2) The Department of Geology is now encouraging all incoming master’s students to take the PSM track, beginning in fall 2007;

(3) The Department of Chemistry has created a new course in Computational Chemistry, offered for the first time this spring (2007), to increase interest in SUNY Buffalo’s Computational Chemistry track.  Chemistry also has sent graduate student representatives to Puerto Rico (fall 2006) to promote the University’s PSM program; and,

(4) Institutional support for SUNY Buffalo’s PSM has also been encouraging, with upper administration taking the lead on a proposal to implement PSM SUNY System-wide. Now that the program has been registered, we’ll be revising our web-site to reflect the advanced certificate program and link to department web pages.
